The modern bench is not just a versatile piece of furniture but it is a wonderful platform for functional sculpture. I came to this realization early in my career when I was working on a commission for a contemporary bench in a New York city foyer. Benches quickly became an obsession of mine and I began my first numbered series. Since then I have ventured into the great outdoor with a second numbered series of benches.
